1. Who we are

This policy explains how WA Fast Car Removal (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal information. It covers our website wafastcarremoval.com.au and our car buying and removal service in Western Australia.

Contact us about privacy:

Please send written requests by email.

2. What personal information we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

  • Contact details: your name, phone number and email address.
  • Vehicle details: information such as make, model, year, condition, kilometres, photos you send us, and identifiers such as the registration number or VIN.
  • Pickup details: the address where the vehicle is collected.
  • Identity and ownership information: when we buy a vehicle, we may ask to see photo ID (such as a driver’s licence) and proof of ownership or registration papers. This helps us confirm you are entitled to sell the vehicle and complete any required paperwork.
  • Payment details: if we pay you electronically, the details needed to make that payment, such as your bank account details.
  • Messages: what you tell us by phone, SMS, email or web form.
  • Website data: information such as your IP address, browser and device details and pages viewed, collected through cookies and similar tools (see section 6).

We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health information). Please don’t send it to us.

3. How we collect it

  • When you fill in a quote or contact form on our website.
  • When you call, text or email us, including through the call button on our website.
  • In person when we inspect and collect a vehicle.
  • Automatically when you use our website (cookies and similar technologies).
  • Sometimes from other people, such as someone arranging the sale of a vehicle on your behalf.

You can contact us without giving your name for a general price enquiry. To buy and collect a vehicle we need to identify you.

4. Why we collect, use and disclose it

We use personal information to:

  • give you a quote and arrange vehicle collection;
  • confirm identity and vehicle ownership, and help prevent the purchase of stolen vehicles;
  • pay you;
  • complete paperwork and keep records required by law, such as vehicle transfer or disposal records;
  • answer your questions and provide customer service;
  • run, secure and improve our website, and understand how well our advertising works;
  • meet our legal obligations, including tax and record-keeping.

If we send you marketing messages, we will do so only with your agreement or where the law allows, and each message will include a way to opt out.

5. Who we share it with

We may share personal information with:

  • our staff and contractors, such as tow-truck operators, who need it to collect your vehicle;
  • businesses we sell vehicles or parts to, such as recyclers or dismantlers. We share only what is needed, which is generally vehicle information rather than your contact details;
  • the WA Department of Transport and other government agencies, police or regulators where required or authorised by law;
  • service providers that help us run the business, such as our website host (Hostinger), Google (for website analytics and spam protection), and professional advisers such as our accountant or bank;
  • anyone you authorise us to share it with.

We do not sell personal information.

6. Cookies and website tools

Our website uses:

  • Google Tag Manager, which may load analytics or advertising tools, such as Google Analytics, to help us understand how visitors use the site;
  • Google reCAPTCHA on our forms to protect against spam. reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service;
  • website forms to receive your quote and contact requests;
  • a click-to-call button so you can phone us directly;
  • scripts provided by our website host, Hostinger.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the site may not work properly. You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers, such as Google and our website host, may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate.

8. Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. These include limiting access to people who need it and using secure systems. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. After that, we destroy or de-identify it.

No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure. If you need to share ID documents, please ask us about the best way to do this rather than sending them by email.

9. Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us (see section 1). We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why, unless the law says we don’t have to.

10. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first (see section 1). We will try to resolve it within 30 days. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page with its “last updated” date.
